Be Kind is an intimate theater experience for babies aged 6 to 18 months and their parents/guardians. The little ones are introduced to acrobatics and juggling up close. In this flowing performance of sound, color and movement, two circus artists take you on a sensory journey.

From the song of early birds to luminous juggling cones at dusk, the performance follows the rhythm of the day. The pop-up decor slowly comes to life, and there is always something that rattles, appears, creaks, rolls or floats. During the performance, a heart-warming dialogue arises between the artists and their young audience.
These spontaneous interactions make every performance slightly different.

After the performance, the artists invite the little ones to discover the playing field together. They can crawl in, out, along and through the decor to explore the special materials up close.

Be Kind is the directorial debut of Emilie Weisse, realized with the support of TENT, house for contemporary circus. When making this production, Emilie was advised by Sabine Hunnius from the Baby & Child Research Center in Nijmegen. For this collaboration between art and science, they received the 2022 Mingler Scholarship.

Experiencing theater together creates a bond. Comparable to reading a book together. To continue the theater experience, the makers have also released a children's book based on the performance. The book is available after the performance.

This performance has an age indication with a starting and ending age of 6 to 18 months. We ask you to respect the age indication and to apply it to every child in your party. Tickets can therefore only be reserved for children from 6 to 18 months and not for older children.

Duration of performance: 30 min + 10 min reenactment

Circus maker and dancer Emilie Weisse makes her directorial debut with the performance Be Kind (0.5+): a performance in which two circus artists, together with the little ones and their parents and/or supervisors, are part of a real spectacle. Inspired by scientific research and international developments in the field of baby theatre, Emilie developed a desire to introduce children to contemporary circus in an intimate way from a very young age.
