An embrace, a kiss, a pat on the back, a fist bump, or a firm handshake. It can be so natural to touch each other, but sometimes it can be terrifying. What if your touch is misunderstood? By the other person or by the surroundings.

In Don't Wanna Touch, YoungGangsters and DOX dive deep into the fear of touch and embrace the discomfort. Through provocative scenes, we explore loving, violent, sexual, and friendly touch. Why can a simple handshake be awkward? Where does the shame come from in certain touches? And when do you draw the line?

Director Annechien de Vocht and choreographer Simon Bus, together with five energetic performers, create an exciting blend of hip-hop and "action theater." With (dis)comfort, humor, and vulnerability, we establish boundaries and collectively break through the barriers surrounding touch and intimacy. Are you ready to be touched?

Prior to this performance, we present NOW TALKS in the foyer of Maaspodium, an interactive talk show featuring guests and experts discussing current topics. Young program makers from Maaspodium conceive and host the evening, challenging the audience to look at things from a different perspective.
