The light is on.
Or the light is off.
That's how we say it anyway.
But it's not that simple.
Because between on and off there is a big,
endless world.
On a journey from pitch black to fluorescent pink, past broken corners, spinning circles and meandering figures. And there is light everywhere, sometimes barely visible, sometimes connecting.
That light… you want to touch it.
In FeL, choreographer Karolien Verlinden investigates where areas of color overlap and how light manipulates our field of vision. How do light and body influence each other? After Kapot, in which Karolien Verlinden explored the relationship between dance and language, she departs for FeL from the physical quality of light. Dancers Alex Akuete and Lucas Katangila build a kaleidoscopic light artwork, in a scenography by Caroline Mathieu. FeL is a wordless performance for everyone from the age of 3 on sound by Boris de Klerk.
