About the maker
Francesca Carvallo is a Chilean audiovisual artist based in Rotterdam. Influenced by her life in the mountains, her work explores the connection between the body and nature. As part of CiclicasFilm with Nina Salvador, she examines intimacy on film through projects like Pandémica (2021) and Vaginada (2024). In addition, she conducts workshops on animation and experimental art as a means of expressing emotions.
Francesca is always in motion—nothing is static. This is why she prefers freelance work, allowing her to engage with various projects and explore different aspects of herself, focusing on personal growth.
Monse (Higareda) Patrón is a creative freelancer from Mexico with international experience in event management, media production, and cultural initiatives. After living in France, she is now based in Rotterdam. Like the spirit of Corto Migrante, Monse values movement and change. While rooted in Rotterdam, she actively seeks opportunities to organize events and initiatives internationally, reflecting her genuine passion for intercultural exchange and global collaboration.
Organizers Monse and Franche have experience in event and film production. They met through Feministas en Rotterdam, a trans-inclusive, anti-colonial feminist collective for Spanish-speaking migrants, where they support and empower new members.
