Stadsgedicht 010-MIJNIEBELLEN
Selfcare
Selfcare is knowing when to say no
Selfcare is keeping that case closed
Selfcare is knowing when to change roads
Selfcare's needed just to stay afloat
selfcare don't mean you gotta do it by yourself
self care
self care
we've been told
that we need to get ourselves there
that we ought to earn our share
that we need to burn our hands
learn where we stand
and make amends
with living on watered down riches
from stolen land
Heavy is the head that wears the crown,
but heavier the hands that hold the kingdom down.
Do we live to work?
Do we work to live?
Do we live to take?
And what does it take to live?
What's freedom if it needs to be bought?
How could you be earning the least when you be doing the most?
How is one stacking the cheese and the other picking up the crumbs of the toast?
How is one breaking their back so the other can boast?
How can we be pleased when this is what we know?
